Had to chuckle when I saw this model. It is awesome and laughably big!

I just hope the large scale models do not break the system.

The battle engines did not, so hopefully these bad boys will be fine.

Ive never tried to build a functional Commander deck before, especially not for a tourny.....

This could get real funky real fast.

Before spending copious amounts of money on a new army, I wanted to have a list in mind to work towards.

Here is my first draft for a 2k army.
Bear in mind, as ever, this is themed, the concept being a near future urban warfare group, so no plasma or lascannons (Im writing lasguns off as assault rifles), nor power weapons or power fists. (Also gives me more points for more fun things ;-) )

HQ:
Company Command Squad w/ Creed/Kell/Vox Caster
Mounted in a Chimera w/ Pintle Mounted Heavy Stubber

Troops:
2 x Veterans Squad w/Vox Caster/3 Grenade Launchers
Mounted in Chimera/Pintle Mounted Heavy Stubber

1 Infantry Platoon:
Platoon Command Squad w/ 3 Grenade Launchers
Infantry Squad A w/ 1 Grenade Launcher
Infantry Squad B w/ 1 Grenade Launcher
Infantry Squad C w/ 1 Grenade Launcher
Heavy Weapon Squad w/ 3 Missile Launchers

Elites:
5 Ogryns (Using Micropanzer Seeker Mechs)
6 Ratling Snipers

Fast Attack:
3 Armoured Sentinels w/ Autocannons (Using Micropanzer Strider Mechs)
3 Tauros w/ Tauros Grenade Launchers

Heavy Support: (All using Micropanzer Stompers)
3 Leman Russ Vanquisher w/ Hull Mounted Heavy Bolter & Sponson Heavy Bolters

2000pts total

I am wondering whether I should drop a Vanquisher and instead invest the points in either:
* Another Veterans/Chimera unit (leaving me 30pts spare)
* Expand the Infantry Platoon with another Infantry Squad and another Missile Launcher Squad (leaving 45pts spare)

Feedback and suggestions welcome!

EDIT:
Have swapped the Special Weapons Sniper Squad to a 6 man Ratling Sniper unit - 10 points more but far more effective, and brings the list as it stands to an even 2K.

'Camp' Tau..... I assume that was meant to be 'Camo'.... lol

The other place for fitting missile pods is on the Tau symbols on the side of the jetpack, looks quite heavy duty and dangerous.

And if you want a head start on using old XV15s, I have 4 left over that I do not need that can be rehomed with you for a fiver.

The only real conversion with them is using Firewarrior backpacks, which you can normally buy for about 30p-50p each from most bitz sites.

I will be fielding them against Jack this Wed at the Gifts, though I haven;t played in like 4 years, so this will be somewheree between mortally embarressing and hugely humiliating... :-p

Yeah looking good man. Don't think I remember seeing these guys before!

I like the shield generator conversion, very smart. Using the old Stealth guys as Fire Warriors...consider that idea stolen!!

I also like how you got round the problem of mounting a missile pod on the R'myr model. I stopped my Tau force because I couldn't get round that!! Seeing this is making me want to get back onto my own Tau lol

Paint job looks good too. Never been massively keen on 'camp' Tau, but with the black it works.

Taurus are usable in any IG army according to the most recent Forge World book, so you don't have to use Elysians to get them.

I have found these from Antenocitis Workshop, coming soon:

http://www.antenocitisworkshop.com/news/2012/03/warthog-adv-wips/
http://www.antenocitisworkshop.com/news/2012/02/28mm-nrf-viper-scout/

And the Pig Iron Ironshield APC has won me over for a Chimera stand in (using the Ironstorm Turret)

http://www.pig-iron-productions.com/sl3-ironshield-apc-complete-kit-p-43.html

Im thinking an Urban Clearance Force theme, all ground troops and support, and I don't feel the need for a Valk now, rather stay on Terra Firma from the off ;-)
