Blood and Oil – Sunday 26th August

Sunday 26th of August Tabletop Tyrant will be hosting our quarterly tournament Blood & Oil.

Players will need two 50pt list with up to 10pts of reinforcements, models don't have to be painted but have to be the model they represent. (so no proxies).

The tournament will be played under steamroller 2012 rules and scenarios, which are for this event;

  • close quarters,

  • outflank outfight outlast 

  • demolition. 

Players will have 12 minute turns, for more details on the scenarios visit or type in steam roller 2012 into a search engine.

The shop will open at 10.30 ready to start at 11.00 players must have copies of both lists

Yes,  Colossals are allowed!

Entry is to be confined, but should be below £5 (depends how much the steamroller medals are this year).

Christmas carnage

Deck the halls with bits of warjack la la la la laa la la la la, smash the teeth in of a warbeast la la la la laa la la la laa.

Seasons greetings to all, Gifts for Geeks will be celebrating Christmas with a Hordes and Warmachine doubles tournament, the event will kick off on Sunday the 18th of December at 11.00am.

The rules are simple its 50 points a team (25 each) and tier list are allowed.

Epic and prime casters in one army are not allowed (e.g. epic fiora and prime fiora)

Four rounds will be played to decide the winning team there will also be prizes for best painted battle group and single miniature. (armies do not have to be painted.)

There will be an entry fee of £5.00 per team,this will also be our last hordes and warmichine tournament of the year so i hope for a good turn out.

With all said... back to the mince pies, grab a partner and devise your plans to layeth the smackdown!

Blood & Oil Nationals Update

After the success of last year's Blood & Oil tournament, Gifts for Geeks are teaming up with the Leicester Phat Cats to run Blood & Oil 2011 (5th & 6th of November)

Rules The tournament will use the Steamroller 2011 rules pack. Players will be using two, fifty point lists, each led by a different caster. In this event, Prime and Epic casters are considered to be different casters.

Each list must be used at least twice during the event. Lists must be submitted to before 25th Oct 2011

Games will be 100 minutes in duration and each turn will be 12 minutes long. Once per game a player may use a 5 minute time extension to their turn. They may declare that they are using this extension at any point during their turn, or within 10 seconds after their turn has ended.

What You Need to Bring With You

1. Two copies of you army lists.

2. Models for your armies. Proxies may be used if there are no current official figures are available and must be certified as fit for play by a tourney official before the event.

3. Stat cards for your army, and the relevant rulebook if using a tier list.

4. Templates and dice, also a timer/stopwatch to time your turns.

5. Superglue just in case.

09.30 - 10.00: Arrival and registration. Welcome and important information.

10.00 - 11.40: Game 1

12.00 - 13.00: Lunch and preliminary painting judging.

13.00 - 14.40: Game 2

15.00 - 16.40: Game 3

09.30 - 10.00: Doors open.

10.00 - 11.40: Game 4

12.00 - 13.00: Lunch and players painting judging.

13.00 - 14.40: Game 5 15.00 - 16.40: Game 6

17.00: Final standings, prizes and cheerio! Prizes

Prizes will be awarded for: 1st Place 2nd Place 3rd Place Best Painted Army Sportsmanship “The King of Sponge Valley” In addition, certificates will be awarded to the top players in each faction

Steel yourselves soldiers of Immoren a time of reckoning is upon us bring all creatures of the wild whose fury can be harnessed to aid you in these hard times of war, and iron sentinels whose wrath shakes the very earth of the lands you wish to conquer.

Iron strength versus unbridled fury in a fight to the death who shall stand victorious over the remains of there annihilated foe.

this event will kick off at 11.00am on Sunday the 16th of October at Tabletop Tyrant, there will be an entry fee of £2.00.

Four rounds will be played to determine a winner. There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd, the points limit is 15 points plus your warcaster points (battle group only) and  no caster attachments. So unleash the beasts and mechanical monsters.

After the success of the last event we will be running a sequel on the 6th April 6.30 start.

There will be 3 games to decide the victor. The rules we will be using is as follows;

15 Point Army which must consist of

1 Warcaster/Warlock
1 Troop Unit Choice (May be full strength with attachments)
1 Solo Choice
1 Warjack/Warbeast Choice

Additional points to make a 15 point army list may be spent on a single additional Warbeast/Warjack Choice

Blood And Oil,  March Mayhem his kicked off!

It's our first Tournament since the Nationals (50 man yearly tournament) and it's a good one! We have a full house of 16 players, luckily for us 4 players dropped out including the current champion Sonny otherwise we would have really been struggling for space.

Next time we will have 2 extra tables built just in case more people turn up.

For those people interested Blood And Oil is our quarterly Warmachine and Hordes Steamroller tournament. This month's event is a 50 point one as lots of people are gearing up for the Masters (Where Gifts For Geeks will have a stall) and the Student Masters.

Darrell's Karver charged Aspyhixious, leaving him on one wound.
